Mesum Verma

Born in Lucknow, raised in Switzerland from the age of five, I grew up near St. Gallen, in the German-speaking part of the country. At 17, I got sponsored by a major snowboard brand, which launched my life into a whole new direction: becoming a pro snowboarder.

While riding professionally until age 25, photography was always with me, my first SLR at 12, a Canon, quickly replaced by Nikon gear. After my snowboarding career, it felt natural to stay in the scene, capturing my friends in action. I travelled the globe, working with top snowboard film crews, shooting stills for brands and magazines. My first published photo? A cover for MBM Snowboarder, one of Europe’s biggest mags.

Over the years, I’ve worked with brands like Adidas Outdoor, Red Bull, Westbeach, SigSagSug, and SP Bindings, shooting sports, travel, portraits, and products. While I can work in a studio, I’m most at home outdoors, chasing natural light and real moments. That’s where the magic lives.

I also spent 12 years in Asia, 11 in China, 1 in India, where I founded mtbmagasia.com, one of the region’s first mountain bike magazines, combining my passion for sport, photography, and storytelling.

And who knows, maybe I’ve got a few more good stories out there on the internet.
